How Face-Framing Lights Work
Face-Framing Lights focuses bright, lighter pieces at the hairline and front sections to create immediate contrast and perceived depth around the face. The chosen pieces are placed where they will catch natural light and complement your base color and skin tone, producing a visible pop concentrated at the front without overhauling overall color.
Before application we discuss tone, brightness, and exact placement so the highlights flatter your features and fit your routine. Note that Styling is not included. Duration: 30 minutes. Price: $105. For clients with longer lengths the final price will increase; we confirm additional charges during consultation.
Placement and Face Shape
Placement choices affect how prominent the highlights read when you move or gesture. Brighter, high-contrast pieces create a halo effect and strong definition, while subtler strands give softer framing. Your stylist will explain these trade-offs and recommend placement that enhances your face shape, hair movement, and the level of daily maintenance you prefer.
Local conditions and routines also matter: Washington’s humid summers and active urban lifestyles influence how you wear your hair day to day. Many clients who commute via Rhode Island Ave–Brentwood or Brookland-CUA Metro choose tones and placements that look polished with minimal styling, and we offer flexible appointment times to fit those schedules.
What To Expect During Appointment
The session begins with a brief consultation and review of reference images to agree on brightness and placement. The stylist isolates the selected front sections, applies the lightening product, processes and rinses. The service focuses on the front highlights themselves; final styling is not part of this appointment and would require a separate booking.
If you have longer hair, the stylist will confirm any additional cost before starting because longer lengths increase price due to extra product and handling. Bring clear photos or examples to speed decisions; the clearer your reference, the easier it is to determine how many sections are needed to achieve the desired pop.
