What the service includes
The service begins with a professional cleanse and a deep conditioning treatment, then moves into styling. We create 6–10 double-stranded flat twists placed close to the scalp. Foam is used during styling to produce a smooth, flat lay. The number of twists and their thickness depend on your natural hair density and the chosen pattern.
Extensions are not included in the base service and will incur an additional fee if you choose to add them. During your consultation the stylist will confirm whether your natural length and density will achieve the desired outcome with 6–10 twists or if extensions are recommended to reach a specific shape or volume.
Technique and expected finish
Double-strand flat twists are formed by twisting two sections of hair while keeping the twist anchored flat against the scalp. The foam used in the finishing step helps lay the hair smoothly and hold a defined edge. Expect a close-to-scalp pattern that emphasizes texture, parting lines, and the natural direction of your hair growth.
Tension, section size, and hair texture shape the final look: finer sections yield more defined twists while larger sections create a chunkier appearance. Local climate—Washington’s humid subtropical summers and cooler winters—can influence how long the flat, smooth finish lasts, so discuss styling tension and product choices with your stylist.
Aftercare and local fit
Home care focuses on preserving the flat lay and scalp health: sleep with satin, apply light moisturizers as needed, and avoid heavy products that can weigh twists down or break down the foam finish. Gentle cleansing between appointments is fine; ask your stylist about recommended products that work with the foam finish and your hair type.
