What the move-up does
A Beaded Weft Move-Up repositions and tightens the existing beaded weft extensions already installed in your hair. Technicians work with the current wefts only—no new hair is added—to restore a smoother line at the scalp, reduce visible gaps, and address slippage so the install resumes a natural fall and blend.
The result depends on hair growth, how the wefts were originally seated, and daily styling habits. This maintenance prevents excess tension on the natural hair and helps keep the wefts comfortable and secure. Note that shampoo, blow-dry, or styling are not included and should be booked separately if desired.
What to expect during appointment
Your appointment begins with a brief consultation to assess weft placement, hair growth, and any signs of movement or tension. The service focuses on moving the current wefts up and securing them so they sit correctly again. Appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes and include the technical repositioning rather than additional styling.
Because many clients travel after work via the Rhode Island Ave–Brentwood and Brookland-CUA Metro stations, we offer flexible early-morning and evening slots to fit commuting schedules. If you want washing or a finished style, please add a separate shampoo/blow-dry or styling service when you book.
When to schedule maintenance
We recommend scheduling a move-up every 6–8 weeks to manage natural hair growth and maintain a secure, comfortable fit. In Washington’s humid subtropical climate, humidity and seasonal styling can influence how quickly wefts shift, so keeping to a regular cadence helps preserve the install’s appearance and comfort.
Delaying maintenance can increase slippage or uneven tension and may make future repositioning more complex. This service does not add new hair or bundles—bundles are not included in the move-up—so if you need additional hair or a full reinstall, book that as a separate install appointment.
