What Microlinks mean
Microlinks is a strand-by-strand extension approach that avoids a braided foundation. At Studio Chique we fit small individual links to natural hairs, which lets each extension move more independently. This suits clients who want fuller length or targeted volume without a full braided base and prefer a more flexible, natural feel.
Because Microlinks attach to individual hairs rather than a track, shaping the final look depends on your natural hair density, desired length, and the number of bundles you choose. We discuss desired length during consultation and plan installs to balance natural movement with the coverage you want, keeping local climate and daily routines in mind.
Buying your extension bundles
Studio Chique sells premium luxury hair bundles separately from installs: bundles are not included with our install service. If you need us to source hair, tell us your desired length and we’ll arrange premium-quality bundles designed for long-term use and professional coloring. Pricing for services starts at $500 and hair is quoted separately.
Coloring on bundles is available as an option when purchasing hair through the salon; please request coloring at time of purchase. Because bundles are sold and processed separately, plan extra time for color services. Service duration is 180 minutes as an estimate and may vary based on your specific appointment details.
Daily wear and local context
Expect maintenance choices to be shaped by your lifestyle in Washington. Many clients who commute via Rhode Island Ave–Brentwood or Brookland-CUA Metro prefer early-morning or evening appointments; we offer flexible booking to match. Humid summers here can affect styling choices, so we recommend discussing how you plan to wear your extensions for best day‑to‑day results.
After your install we’ll review at-home handling and when to schedule upkeep visits. Because Microlinks are installed strand-by-strand without a braid base, upkeep focuses on link integrity and overall hair health. Maintenance frequency depends on wear, styling, and how many bundles you used, so follow-up planning is part of the initial appointment.
