How the ponytail works
The service begins with a silk press to create a smooth base, then your chosen extension hair is molded into the ponytail shape you request. Technicians wrap, seal and style the added hair so it reads as a single, long sleek ponytail. Hair itself is not included; Studio Chique offers premium luxury hair for purchase—simply tell us your desired length and we’ll handle the rest.
These extensions are chosen for long-term wear and professional coloring, which shapes how we install and finish the piece. Because bundles are not included with the install, we plan installs around the specific hair you bring or buy here. Results depend on hair quality, length choice and how the piece is wrapped and sealed at installation.
Booking, timing, and preparation
Studio Chique’s Langdon location in Washington is convenient for clients commuting via the Rhode Island Ave–Brentwood and Brookland-CUA Metro stations, making after-work or midday appointments practical. We also offer flexible early-morning and evening booking options to accommodate parents and shift workers. Mention your schedule constraints when booking so we can match appointment times to your routine and local transit options.
Appointments for Ponytail (Extensions) start at $185 and last 75 minutes; please note hair is not included. If you need us to supply premium hair, tell us your desired length before arrival so we can prepare the correct pieces. Bundles are not included with the install, so purchasing or bringing the right hair ahead of time avoids scheduling delays.
Aftercare and maintenance expectations
Because installations are wrapped and sealed for a sleek ponytail, long-term outcome depends on the extension hair you choose and routine care. Our premium luxury hair is designed for longer wear and professional coloring, so maintenance needs differ from synthetic pieces. Plan for occasional styling sessions to refresh the seal and keep the base smooth if you live an active commuting or family-focused lifestyle.
Washington’s humid subtropical climate can affect a silk-pressed underbase and the finished ponytail, especially during hot, humid summers. If you plan an outdoor event near the U.S. National Arboretum or Union Market, schedule your appointment to leave time for a last-minute touch-up. Our team can advise on timing and simple styling refreshes based on local weather and commuting schedules.
